For every new blogger having a his new blog is really an interesting experience. You feel awesome when people reads your blog, people comment and you start getting recognition in the blogosphere.
Many people start blogging thinking that they will be the next Darren Rowse or Jeremy or some other inspirational blog in just few days. But when they come to know that they have not really got anything which they expected; they give up!..phew.

One of the main reason could be that the blogger thinks that the blog will get millions of readers in just a couple of nights which clearly shows his impatience. They just do nothing in terms of blog optimizing or anything else which could increase it's readership base.

Being Specific

Second reason could be that they only focus only on one specific thing of that niche. For example a blogger starts a blog on iPod's then he just publishes articles about new iPod's launched by companies.
He doesn't thinks anything other than that and when there is nothing to share about any new Ipod launch the blog ultimately runs out of steam.
Instead of focusing on one thing he should actually also talk about things related to iPod's like Ipod games, software's and stuffs like this.

Only Money and nothing else

Many bloggers give up blogging saying that they are not earning anything, duh! So alternatively they start feeling bored on internet and blames things with which he played on his blog saying like this program is not working or it doesn't let you earn much; blah blah.

Now Finally I have decided that I will move to Wordpress Platform in coming months. The reason being that many of my friends are saying that your blog is awesome and are advising me that you should really shift to wordpress for more profitability.

Hopefully I will start on shifting process at the end of March since there are my final school board exams starting later this month and It would end on 28th March(phew).

Till that time I think I will work with this blog to gather more funds which I currently need something like $100; hopefully by advertising-affiliate sales and donations(luckily).

How often and How much you should write?

How often you write is entirely up to you only. Some bloggers prefer updating their blog with new post daily but some prefer once,twice or thrice a week.

Both of them are fine but don't think of posting once a month because if you update your blog once a month then your blog will lose it's regular readership and then you won't be able to hold on to your readers.

Your goal is to write in such a way that your readers gets happy by your article and links to it from his/her blog which will benefit you in many ways.

But how much should you write? Particularly in my opinion you should not write too much like a newspaper story. You should try to limit your article between 200-500 words (as much as the article demands).

But here is the important thing; you should not make your full post visible on the first page or homepage. You should try that each post have it's own page. Most of the bloggers nowadays uses "Read More..." hack on their blog so that it only shows a small teaser of your post on the homepage.

So in short your Homepage should be a list of teasers of your posts and So always remember that Putting all your posts on one long page is a big mistake.

Today was one of the biggest day in SmartBloggerz history. we received huge traffic from various forums and sites regarding this Adsense issue which have been solved now. The traffic was huge and we had more than 44 users at a time few minutes back after the adsense issue resolved news was updated on this blog. The people stayed more than 5 mins. I kept updated the bloggers with this issue very closely throughout the day which resulted in this.

Also the feedcat readership(see in the sidebar) blasted and crossed the 1k mark first time(I think).

From my records I got to know that the users suddenly came from blogger navbar feature which are located on millions of blogger blogs.

Adsense Not Showing Ads Today

Yes, It's true. Today on most of the blogs the google ads stopped showing and some public service ads started appearing. The news became more truthful when some blogger reported about this on Webmaster Forums like DigitalPoint. This problem can also be seen on my blog. See this screenshot:

Displaying Widgets on Specific Pages in Blogger

One of the reader recently commented on my blog to know how I show some widgets on the blog main page and it hides away on the content or item pages. The answer of this I will say that I use Conditional Tags in my Blogger Template which gives "condition" to any widget that where to appear and where not to. I am using these conditional tags at many places in my blog.

So through this post I will teach you that how you can easily make use of these Conditional Tags in your template and easily play with the positions of your widgets :)

So first let me tell you the proper definition of Conditional Tags according to blogger.

"Conditional tags are Blogger template tags that allow you greater flexibility in your template design. We call them conditional because they allow you to specify parts of your template that appear only under certain conditions."

Ok; so you got the definition now let's move on to How you can implement it.

Implementation

First make sure to make a full backup of your existing template before attempting these Conditional Tags.

So before using these tags in your template; first just add any widget in your blog by the default way.
Now when you have added it Go to Layout > Edit HTML > Click on the Expand Box

Then search for any widget by the name which you have given it as title.

Display the widget only on Homepage

If you want to make an widget appear on main page only then we will use the following code:

If you are a blogger user then you might know that old ugly looking link for Newer-Older Posts and Homepage. So I decided to change this thing in my blog and now will tell you how to do it in your blog easily. This will help you in easy blog navigation for your blog readers also it will look more attractive than previous thus it will help in increase in page views.

How to do this?

First of all backup your template for any unnecessary problems and for each trick we will go to LAYOUT ► EDIT HTML ► and then click on Expand widget templates.

Then there try to locate this code:

Trick1. Modifying the Text

In this trick I will tell you how you can just do a simple gambling of text in your template to make it read better.

Just replace the following parts from the above given code from your template:

replace <data:newerPageTitle/> with, for example NEXT POST.
replace <data:olderPageTitle/> with, for example PREVIOUS POST.
replace <data:homeMsg/> (only the first one) with, for example HOMEPAGE.

Trick2. Adding icons near to it

In this trick I will tell you how you can just add a nice looking icon near to the text.

To place an Icon before Newer Post or any text which you have used; just place below code before <data:newerPageTitle/>

Here is the code:

Google's Own Pagerank Estimation

Well you might have heard of many Google Pagerank estimation tools on net which estimates your blog Pagerank on the basis of backlinks. But most of the times they are almost useless and doesn't predicts properly or are mostly down.

So today I will tell you about a thing which many of you might have not observed carefully but yes this thing is provided by Google which gives you a Pagerank estimation but not in numbers; it gives estimation in the form of stats(historogram).

So What is it?

The thing is called 'Google Webmaster Tool'. If you have signed up for this thing and have submitted your blog and also have verified it then you can easily get your Pagerank estimation by Google itself.

But How?
The thing is very simple. Just move into your Google Webmasters Account, there on the Dashboard, click on any of your listed blog whose Pagerank estimation you want to know.
After clicking on your respective blog, click on 'Statistics' which is listed on left hand side of your screen.
Then there, Click on 'Crawl stats' of that blog. Then scroll to the last, there you would see something like this:

As you can see a part of it is titled with 'The PageRank of your pages in Google'. This is what the thing we were looking for. Here you can see easily that how your pages are rated in Google plus it also tell the page of our blog with highest Pagerank every month.

So in this way you can come to know how much work your have to do to promote your blog to get the highest possible Pagerank.
According to my thinking; Pages with Pagerank 1-3 are categorized in 'low' ; Pages with Pagerank 3-6 are categorized as 'medium' and Pages with Pagerank 6-10 are categorized as 'Highest' but it's only my thinking.

I think we can easily belive on this tool since Pagerank is developed by Google and this cool thing is also developed by google. So there is almost very low chances that it gives almost poor estimatation.

These tags are used to tell the title of the page. The Meta Title tag would normally have the same title as contained in the <title></title> tag.

Since, Your title tag also comes in the <title></title> area, so there is not a very high necessity of using this tag but it depends on your choice.

2.Meta Description
This tag gives a short description of the your page. It is always recommended to keep your Meta Description Tag up to 150 Characters.

<META NAME="description" CONTENT="Blogging and Webmaster Tips for your blog.">

3.Meta Keywords
This tag is used to list keywords that define/tells the content of your site. Keywords are used by search engines to properly index your site in addition to words from the title, document body, and other areas.
Ensure that you choose keywords that are relevant to your site. Try to keep your keywords with maximum 30 words of 500 Characters. Also avoid using any keyword more than 5 times otherwise for excessive repetition many search engines will penalize you for this.

4.Meta Robots
These tags control the search engine robots on a per-page basis. There are many types of Meta Robots tags through which you can tell the robots what content to index and spider.I will give examples for few of them with one line explanation about what it does.

-Tell search engines to index your site but not to follow links (nofollow)

5.Meta Abstract
This tag gives a short summary of the description. The content for this tag is usually 10 words or less.

Digg Name Is Being Used By A Website!!

Recently I came across a website through Google Ads; this site is using "digg" name which is a popular social website in the world. According to digg:

DIGG, DIGG IT, DUGG, DIGG THIS, Digg graphics, logos, designs, page headers, button icons, scripts, and other service names are the trademarks of Digg Inc.

But this name is used by a similar category website but with slight change in the domain extension.
This site is Digg.co.in and it is almost same to Digg interface just some different colors use.

When I investigated about this site, I cam to know about a person who calls himself the owner and asks the same question on Yahoo Answers! Page. The person asks that he have the Domain http://www.digg.co.in and running and will it cause any dispute in future?

I think there could be chance of a possible dispute if Digg's Officials come across this thing and that person could get into any big trouble. Actually he was having a domain RedFry.com but he decided to buy a domain matching similar to a Big site related to his site category so he did this thing.

Hopefully, If he reads this he will shift to the older domain and won't think of using 'Digg' name for running that site.

Twitter Under Bad Hack Attack!

Hmm..Somebody now interested in Hacking Twitter accounts. Hackers after hacking accounts of social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut are now attacking Twitter with their skills. But how? They are using phishing pages and other admin tools to get people's twitter account.

From sources news arrived about an phishing page which was detected and it was closed and a Firefox security measure page was up on it.

Reports also says that 33 high profile accounts, including President Elect Barack Obama and many celebrities, were hacked.

When it was asked about this attack, twitter officials told:

This morning we discovered 33 Twitter accounts had been “hacked” including prominent Twitter-ers like Rick Sanchez and Barack Obama (who has not been Twittering since becoming the president elect due to transition issues). We immediately locked down the accounts and investigated the issue. Rick, Barack, and others are now back in control of their accounts.

What Happened?

The issue with these 33 accounts is different from the Phishing scam aimed at Twitter users this weekend. These accounts were compromised by an individual who hacked into some of the tools our support team uses to help people do things like edit the email address associated with their Twitter account when they can’t remember or get stuck. We considered this a very serious breach of security and immediately took the support tools offline. We’ll put them back only when they’re safe and secure.

The hacker posted a fictional update to the Twitter feed for CNN anchorman Rick Sanchez which read: 'I am high on crack right now, might not be coming into work today.'

A similar post was made to the Fox News blog claiming that anchorman Bill O'Reilly was gay, while the Spears feed sported a vulgar message claiming to be from the pop singer. Obama's feed included a link to a survey site which pays users for traffic referrals.

I am also a Twitter user and would like evryone using twitter to be calm. I advise to clear of unsolicited messages, and ignore any outside site that asks for Twitter log-in details.

Commenting on other blogs is a very good thing to get readers no matter the blog is a dofollow or nofollow. You should comment on other blogs of your choice regularly. If you are still not convinced about this, here are some top reasons that tells why you should keep commenting on other blogs:

1. If you keep commenting on other blog with your identity, the owner plus other readers will also start knowing/recognising you. For example, let's take my blog, I have a reader named "Krisditya"; he comments regulary on my blog on various articles which shows his true readership qualities. One of the widely and the first choice of any blogger to earn money with his blog is no doubt the Google Adsense Program. I think you will agree with me in this. But Many people says after using Google Adsense that it is dead, it doesn’t pays much, I get so much traffic but no clicks on my ads etc. etc. and in this way they mostly get away from it or just play with it for more time without doing much.

By this article I will try to help you with some of the best tricks that will surely help you to optimize your Adsense Income.

1.Display Ads near Content
Try to place ads near to the content like below the title or just after or between the posts since people first eye contact goes with your blog content. And always try to use the biggies i.e. try use rectangular or square or vertical formats

2. Customize your Ad’s display
Try your imagination and look for some attractive color choice for your Adsense ads. Don’t use the default thing that is Blue color for title, black color for text and green color for the link since everybody uses this and readers will move away thinking that it is just any stupid advertisement resulting you in loss of income from Adsense. Then you will say that people don’t click my ads. Why? Why? Why?

WOW Man. I am amazed by this news. Later this morning when I was checking my blog I saw my something green in my PageRank toolbar. Then I suddenly went to check my blog PR on CheckPagerank and it was true... My Blog is now a PR3 Blog. See these wonderful screen-shots:

I think this is a great gift from Google as far as for New Year. I hope that I will do my best moving afterward and Will try my best to get a PR4 in the next update.

No Access To Internet For Few Days

Somehow I am writing this post since I am also getting affected from this problem. So let me tell you the problem; the problem is that the major Undersea Cables From Mediterranean are broken disrupting internet access and phone service between the Middle East, Europe, and parts of Asia. 14 countries including my country India is also been affected by it.

In the build up to Christmas this will severely affect e Commerce and Call Center activity - this will also affect hosting companies with customers in these regions which will not be able to access their servers/hosting accounts.

The affected cable providers are FLAG, SMW3 and SMW4. Reading My Newspaper I got the following data about how much %tage of internet Access will be affected in following countries:

Maldives - 100%
India - 82%
Qatar - 70%
Saudi Arab - 50%
Egypt - 50%
Pakistan - 50%

I don’t know what am I going to do without internet in the coming days. This failure has effected my ISP and my browsing speed has been reduced by almost 3-4 times. I got this update today in the morning from my ISP about this failure and this is not going to be solved before 25th December.

Now what can this internet failure do? This can make the economy condition worse! and if I’m not mistaken, it will also effect the stock exchange in the next 72 hours since companies/call centers depend on the internet for their over seas business and trade. The stock exchange might see a down fall.

It also means that this Xmas might not be as good as it was last year.

Dirty Trick For Getting Backlinks From Google

Might be thinking from the title what I am going to share with you today and why it is called 'Dirty'. I won't let you wait for it; The thing is called 'Google Notebook'.

Google Notebook is a web research tool that allows users to clip text, search results, and images from web pages and place them in notebooks for later use.

Notebook entries can be defined as public or private. So, here's the rub.While surfing on the net I came to know about this trick according to which you can easily get some backlinks from your article or notes published in your Google notebook.

So I published an article into my Google notebook with some links pointing towards my blog and when I checked the links that whether it is Dofollow or Nofollow and OMG, these links were Do-Follow. You can check it here. Since I have done this trick just few days back so I am expecting that it will surely show some results to me after some days. Meanwhile, I also came to know that these pages gets listed on Microsoft search Engine fast which is the amongst the top 10 sites of the world.

I think that links in Google notebook might be a good thing to do for a little backlinks and deep links for interior site pages, but interlinking them in this fashion along with nonsense content screams spammm. What are your opinions about it?

AdSense Link Colors Standard Blue

I would like to begin by thanking Smart Bloggerz for allowing me access to his blog for postings. This is quite awesome and I greatly appreciate the opportunity.

As you guys probably already know, the best AdSense link colors are usually blue. The pros and Joel Comm himself will even tell you that a standard blue is the best blue for AdSense. However, this is no longer true.

I have been testing AdSense colors for a few months now and have actually found that the standard blue #0000ff gets a relatively low CTR.

This is probably due to either the

Color itself being outdated.
Color simply being too bright.

The more I read about this issue, the more I began to realize that many people have had similar findings. With that being said, what are some good AdSense link colors?

I have found that anything that blends well with your site usually works well. However, you've probably been told this a hundred times so let me go more into detail.

Blend your AdSense background with your page background.
Blend your AdSense border with your page background.
Use the same link colors you use throughout your site for your AdSense ads.
Make your URL and AdSense text colors black.

Finally, the best blue colors to use for your AdSense links usually consist of an off blue. Something that people aren't used to seeing.

Again, match your AdSense links with the links around your site. Don't forget to text-decoration:underline; your regular links. This will also make the ads blend a little better with your content.

Just looking at blogs today I saw I Advertisement in Google Ads about a site called "WinWithSearch" which is said to be launched by Microsoft’s search engine Live Search India

This is how it works:

If you’re on the Live Search contest page, you’ll need to roll the Dice and get a double ‘6’ within a 10 minute interval. Every 10 minutes the contest will refresh, therefore, the first user to roll 6 & 6 on the Dice in the 10 minute interval wins the prize.

“Win With Search” is clearly aimed at increasing searches at Live Search. Inspite of having a decent product live search has not been able to garner more search market share. especially in India as as per alexa it ranks 9th way behind google and google’s services blogger, youtube and orkut.

In recent months Microsoft have rolled many new features for Live Search in India - Image Search, Video Search, Local Search, xRank, Instant Answers and Live Search Maps for India. The idea primarily is to keep developing new features or capabilities for Search that allows users to get the job done easily and smartly, while at the same time enhancing the core Search relevance.

Writing Good Quality Blog Content!

Think of a few sites that you like to visit again and again. What makes you keep coming back? Most likely, it’s compelling, relevant, and timely content; Quality articles, tutorials, tips, etc. compel the reader to come back again and again.The wonderful thing about running a blog is that it is loosely based and extremely casual.You have the ability to be far more conversational than professional with those who are posting with you.But at the same time, this does not mean you can slack off and present poor content.

Much like running a web site, you must be able to present quality content in order to have a successful blog.Simply having a blog full of content is not going to get the job done. Although your blog may be technically perfect so that the search engine robots find it, you will find that it will not help if the actual content of your blog is not good. For the content of your blog to be good, it should be factually, as well as grammatically correct.

Don’t cram as many ideas as possible into one paragraph; rather, use that paragraph to focus on only one idea.Also take care of your Post Title.It should be attractive and related to the content so that more and more people look after it.Don't give irregular Titles which your reader won't like ever.

The last thing you have to keep in mind when writing quality content is consistency.Making a post once a week is not going to keep a blog up and running.Try to Update your blog withing every 2-3 days otherwise People will lose interest and move on to a different web site or blog.

And after you’ve got a good article. Go ahead, hit publish. you know it’ll make you feel better. The next step is to re-read your entry again over the next few days. Don’t be afraid to make edits — chances are people will read the same entry down the road.

These are just general guidelines for writing quality Web content. It’s not something that most people can master overnight, so give yourself some time, practice a lot, read a LOT, and always put yourself in your Web site visitor’s place to make your site as user-friendly as possible.

Indian Kosmix can beat Google?

Just read an article in my daily newspaper about an search engine called "Kosmix" which have a good potential of beating the Internet Giant "Google".The News remained a buzz for last few days since the two engineers (maker of Kosmix) who missed the chance of buying Google two times 10 years ago have received a huge funds worth $20 million from media and entertainment conglomerate Time Warner for their search site.

"Anand Rajarman and Venky Harinarayan, the Indian Internet entrepreneurs, have received $20 million of funding from Time Warner for their site," The Telegraph reported on Tuesday.

Way back in 1998, Google founder Sergey Brin offered fellow Stanford University PhD students Anand Rajarman and Venky Harinarayan the chance to buy the now search engine giant for about $1 billion.

"They said no," the report published online said.

The very next year, the Indian pair with Amazon backing offered $443 million. But Brin and Google co-founder Larry Page had refused to accept less than $1 billion, the publication noted.

Now Kosmix has also got the backing of Motorola chairman and chief executive Ed Zander and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

“We consider ourselves an explore engine. When you don’t know what’s interesting or know enough about a topic, you come to us. We’ve built algorithms based on topics that lead to a very different end point,” he said. “Google’s algorithms are about finding the best Web pages out there. It’s really, really hard to mess with that.” , Rajarman was quoted as saying.

"Kosmix allows you to browse a whole topic and suggests areas that it thinks you might be interested in," he added.

The truth is, both Google and Kosmix can co-exist. Which means between Google and Kosmix they have covered it all. Kosmix is relying on the fact that their first result is the result you are looking for. That always is not the truth. Kosmix is good for something we already know and want to know more. Quite contrary to their mission statement. Google with its clean interface would still be preferable for quick searches.

This is the one I currently use and is one of the most popular and most used because of its simplicity and also that it provides free blog hosting for its users. The Wordpress. team add new features and themes frequently, and since the new BlogSpot publishing system was rolled out in 2006, the Blogger software team also adds new features too but not with the same speed as wordpress do.

My conclusion is if you’re concerned about what your blog looks like, go with Blogger. You have more control over the look. However, the look/feel of wordpress.com’s templates are nice and clean and they are giving you a lot of options in the sidebar now.

Wordpress.com has many more options that are favorable like categories, pages, and trackbacks. This makes your blog better for visitors and encourages better conversation.

Wordpress is better than blogger if you have the money to buy reliable web hosting and also maybe a good TLD (top level domain), trust me if it wasn’t for the horrible free web hosting I was using at the time I would be writing this article in wordpress right now.

Blogger has to improve their services, they don’t offer track-backs, pings, they only way to prevent comment spamming is the word verification. That is why bloggers are always moving to other platforms but i won't.

If you are not happy with blogger or wordpress here are some other platforms you can try:

Posterous-Blogging highly simplified where all you have to do is email them the content and attach anything from pictures to videos and then they make it into a nice post. No sweat!

Textpattern-Basically the same as wordpress and is a stand-alone platform

MoveableType-Famous for being the first blogging platform to implement trackbacks but it doesn’t seem to be famous anymore

Serendipity-A very flexible platform that comes with very many features and allows users to choose between various mark-ups such as HTML, Textile, Wiki and even BBcode.

Lifetype-A less common blogging platform which has very nice looking posts which is worth looking at.

Flatpress-Very simple platform like blogger with limited features.

Wheatblog-Pretty much the same as flatpress

Loudblog-A platform that is specialised for podcasters

Onsugar-A new blogging platform that is specialised for women due to its feminine look.

1.Log in to your Blogger account.

2.In your Blogger Dashboard, click on the "Layout" link.

If you’ve been doing any kind of reading about link building, then you’ve probably seen people mentioning “nofollow” and “dofollow” links. These are very important terms to understand when you are trying to build great links back to your site in order to increase your search engine rankings. But, to the person who is new to all of this, it may be kind of confusing. I am going to help you break it down.

"Dofollow" are simply the links which are crawled by Search Engines and "Nofollow" are simply the opposite of it.So I think you would obviously prefer most of the times a "dofollow" blog if you are trying to build links for your blog.

As many people might be knowing my Blog is completely a "dofollow" blog but the question arises How should I Check it?

1.Go to the website/blog you'd like to visit.

2.If you're a firefox browser user then click VIEW from the Menu Bar, go to PAGE SOURCE. (For IE users, choose SOURCE)

3.Using your keyboard, Press CTRL + F.

4.Type any “Name of the commentator” from that post in the “Find tool”.Also make sure that the commentator gave the URL to his site in his comment.

Now to use the "NoDoFollow" add-on move on to any web page , right click anywhere and select NoDoFollow to activate this addon & see how it works in below screenshot.

The red color means it is nofollow and blue means it is dofollow.

To use the "SearchStatus" add-on Look at the firefox status bar, right click SearchStatus icon, check HIGHLIGHT NO FOLLOW LINKS and then go to the website/blog you'd like to visit and see its effects below in screenshot.

It just happened few minutes back from writing this article that google detected that my site is having Malware on it which can cause harm to it.I was stunned by this message.Here is a screenshot of it..

I suddenly searched about this matter on Google then I come to know that users also faced same problem on big portals like rediff.Then at Yahoo!Answers page I came to know about it properly and it's solution which may be caused by any zombies in system.....Then I followed some steps
mentioned there i.e I deleted all temp files and history and updated my Anti Virus.
Wohlaa!It worked Now I am now getting this message but for security measure I have removed clicksor.com ads..And If you have also received the same problem then do the same thing which i did it will work out for sure.

Entrecard Takes Strict Steps For Better Economy

Entrecard, which came like a "GOD" for bloggers to boost their readership with their dropping style promotion.After some good years of making buzz all around Entrecard have taken some strict steps to balance it's economy from further loses.On 29th September Entrecard sent all it's member a e-mail regarding the changes that are going to happen.The reactions of the bloggers were not good against these changes.

The Changes that have been applied to Entrecard users are as follows :-

Buy credits for less: Entrecard is now selling 1,000 credits for $6.00.
More pricing increments: Instead of prices doubling every time, there are now a few more steps. The new price points can be found on the Advertising page in the wiki.
Members are not allowed to sell credits: This goes for ebay sales, posts in the Marketing forum, and posts on other forums. If you have references on your site to the sale of credits, please remove them immediately, as it is now against our terms.
Credit transfer limits: Members are allowed to make a maximum of 14 credit transfers a week, up to a maximum of 1,000 credits, whichever comes first. This means you can still run contests where you give credits away for free, and under 1k per week. Note: This does not affect linked blogs, you can transfer unlimited credits between linked blogs.
Transfer tax: From now on, all transfers, including transfers made with our new payments API, will be taxed at a rate of 12.5%. The taxed credits will be sold to members (see #1).
Blogs cannot be unlinked: Once you link a blog, it’s there for good unless you ask us to delete the blog from your account. This prevents linking/unlinking to get around the credit transfer limits, and it also stops you losing access to a blog if you unlink it in error, which happens a lot.
No more coupons: You are no longer allowed to send coupons.
Shop closed: Except for Entrecard upgrades (Featured Status, Fast Pass) the Entrecard Shop is now offline until further notice. Please do not request a seller token until the shop returns. When it comes back, it will be bigger and better. We’ll communicate more details nearer the time.

My Opinion About Some Of These Changes

Looking at all these changes many bloggers said that Entrecard dropping looks to be boring now due to no fun in it.The first and third changes says that Entrecard selling is now banned for other members both on e-bay & on the blog etc. and if somebody is found to be doing so, strict actions may be taken against him.It's a good Idea for Entrecard to boost it's Economy because I think one was even thinking of buying credits from there due to high pricing.But still after reducing the prices to $6/k some might take their money out from their pockets to buy those credits but i still recommend to reduce to prices to $2.5/k in future.

The Credit Transfer limit has now been reduced to 1000 ec or 14 transactions a week whichever comes first.I think it's totally bad thing for contest holders because it would be difficult for us to giveaway prices as Entrecard Credits in contests.Graham Says answering to this:

We’re working towards a method of sanctioning contests and will update everyone on the blog once its ready.
It will involve some sort of inspection, to see where your credits came from, some sort of planning so we know the exact day you’re giving them away, some sort of accountability -that you’ve been active in the community and we know who you are vs. someone who just shows up today with a million credits suspiciously and wants to hold a “contest”

So once we have some firm ground rules in place, the huge contests can continue because we do not want to see the contest culture of Entrecard die!

I think it should come as soon as possible.So guys keep your Fingers crossed :)

The Transfer tax is totally stupid idea,I feel like Entrecard want us to feel the Old era where people used to pay high taxes in many countries :(

As I told that I bought this domain from name.com just for $6 with many features.I also got many problems setting that domain and some people might have seen strange things happening at that time but no worries now it's all perfect.
People are facing problems with name.com because there is no tutorial available for this domain registrar on net.So to help those people's I m writing this simple tutorial to set-up your blogger custom domain using name.com

*Please Follow the Instructions Carefully*

1.I assume you already have a name.com account and bought one domain name. Login to name.com and you will be directed to your account.

2.Now select the domain from the list to modify.Use the pic. below for reference:

3.Now you will be redirected to the domain management page.Check that the Domain Lock is unlocked.Also check that you are using the default name servers that are ns1.name.com and ns2.name.com without that the URL forwarding wont work.

4.Then from the control panel in the sidebar,click DNS Management.There add a CNAME Record type with record host : www ,Record answer : ghs.google.com ,TTL : 1800 and click submit.

5.Then go back to the domain management again.There from the sidebar click URL Forwarding option.In that Page Fill the Following things:

Point to : http://yourblogname.blogspot.com
Using : redirect URL forwarding (301)
Page Title : (Anything you want,Can be filled afterwords)
Meta Tags : (Can be filled afterwords)

Click Update!

6.Since name.com domains comes with google apps you will have to do more thing.Activate Google Apps for that site.Then move to your Google Apps account of that domain and disable Start Page Feature from it.

7.Wait for few mins.Then go to your blogger account>Settings>Publishing>Advanced Settings>And fill the things similar as i did just change the domain name.

7.Save it!

You don't need to use it for Googlebot, but you should still use the 301 redirect, if it's available. This will help visitors and other search engines. Of course, make sure that you point to the same URL with the preferred domain feature and the 301 redirect.

Everybody till now might be knowing about Page Rank but still for newbies don't know about it let me tell you what it is and how it affects the blogging experience..

PageRank is basically a conceptual method of using the way websites Link together to deduce their relative importance. For example, many people might link to the BBC News website, that means it is a relatively important site while Joe Bloggs’ homepage might only be linked to by a few close friends and family, which again reflects its relative importance.

The Question Might be can we increase PageRank? The answer would be Yes,it's possible.Having more people linking to your website will certainly result in the increase of your site’s PageRank but it will only increase its importance not its relevance.

Many bloggers buy text link with Websites with higher PR (6, 7, 8), and those websites often make money by selling links to sites with lower PR. As Google states, if they are aware that sites are selling PR instead of just advertising space both the buyer and seller may be penalized. The penalty may take the form of a lower position in SERPs and/or a downgrade of PR. Thus, we recommend that you do not buy links simply for a higher PR.

Now the question might have arised that how google calculates the PR?The answer to this is stated below..

The original formula Google used to measure the PR of a page is

PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn))

Though no one is not sure whether Google still uses this formula, it is probable that the new Google PR formula is very similar. In this formula:

PR(A) is the PageRank of the page you are trying to measure

d is a damping factor considered to be about 0.85
tn is the PR of the n th incoming link page
C is the number of outgoing links from each page that has a link to you

As you can see, the more links from higher PR pages the better; fewer the outgoing links from the sending page, better the results on the receiving page. Theoretically, an exclusive link from a PR4 page is better than a PR7 link that has 50 links to other pages.

Today,watching the MTV ticker I came to know about the Google Chrome Launching.So,I thought why i don't make a post about it and having your views about Google's new entry.

Google announced their new open-source browser called "Google Chrome" yesterday and even more interestingly, explained the concepts behind their browser technology in a simple comic book.

I downloaded Google Chrome today morning and it installed in a flash. And first time when I opened, it gave an option of importing settings and bookmarks from my firefox.

Since you already can download a beta version of Google Chrome, which I think looks more ready than just a beta, the man can test for themselves.Here are some main points of Google's Chrome:

Fast to get. Quick to get.And Not A Memory Sucker Like Firefox..

The start of the programme leading to a meeting with a iGoogle-like site, integrated with the history, favorites and other things which we hope to snare users.

Address bar is like in Firefox 3, it gives suggestions for similar pages Monday touched on, or might think fit anyway.A google search of the mini is already happening in the address.
